I was born in Ecuador and immigrated to the United States with my family in 1999. As an immigrant, I’ve seen firsthand how difficult it can be to navigate the U.S. healthcare system – especially with language, culture, or lack of access to information as barriers.

I completed by undergraduate and medical school training at the University of Louisville, followed by emergency medicine residency and a clinical ultrasound fellowship at the University of Texas in Houston. I currently practice emergency medicine in Houston, where I care for patients from all walks of life – often in their most vulnerable moments.

This blog is my way of giving back – by creating a space where the Latino community, especially younger generations, can find clear, trustworthy health information in a language and tone that feels familiar. Whether it’s understanding how to access preventative care, knowing when to seek help, or just learning how to take charge of your health, I’m here to make it easier.
